Amongst the ever-expanding landscape of House and Techno, John Neenan (South Royston) has forged his own distinct sound and is striding into what promises to be a successful 2017.
A classically trained pianist, and brought up on an eclectic diet of varying musical influences, he was inescapably drawn to the powerful baselines and infectious grooves of electronic music.
John, and his then musical counterpart Cameron, hit the ground running in 2014. First with a remix for Mike Mago’s Bmkltsch Records, and then on Ministry of Sound’s very own HK Records with the summer anthem “Unfamiliar ground.” Shortly after, the dancefloor heavyweights “Bad Format” and “Another Night” dropped on Four40 Records, with all tracks gaining support from a wide variety of BBC Radio 1 DJs.
Further releases on Madtech, Viva Music and CR2 records followed, as did a hefty list of high profile gigs across the country. John, who now continues the project on a solo basis, is now crafting a more refined and intelligent sound, and has a host of new material ready and waiting to unleash.
With a jam-packed release schedule planned over the coming months, and whilst conquering music venues and festivals across the UK, the future will see him working on a distinctly darker and techier output. Watch this space.
