Cheeky Music Publishing is the brainchild of Music Industry veteran Mel Medalie. Cheeky Music was established in 1998 as the publishing company to run alongside the legendary Cheeky Records record label (Dido / Faithless). Cheeky Records was later sold on to BMG in 2001, but Mel maintained the publishing company, which continues to go from strength to strength. Early signings on Cheeky include Paul Herman, a songwriter who who with Dido and co-wrote the global hit “Thank You” which later went on to features in Eminem’s “Stan”.
Cheeky Music Publishing is a global publishing company, working with key partners in key territories across the world. Partners include Mushroom Music in Australia, Sony ATV in Germany, Talpa BMG in Benelux and Clippers in Spain.
Cheeky have an active presence in the sync world, with recent sync placements including Australian soap “Neighbours”, US TV shows “Smallville”, “ER” and “Vampire Diaries” and global energy drink brand “Rockstar” to name a few.
